Plaid To School
Back are the school days! This pleated skirt truly makes me nostalgic and reminds me of those school days. It was a part of my uniform but in blue and white plaid with double knotted ponytails and a red ribbon. I still hear my mom running after me for breakfast, ironing my school dress and somehow making me catch the school bus. I so had to do this post. 20 plus years have past and I was strolling in the city of Boston wearing this very trendy fall skirt with my hubby and lo. I felt like going back to school. While sitting in a bench and just people watching on an evening after work.
Pleated skirts are going to be very popular this fall, the fact that they can be paired up with so many options makes it suitable for fall going on to winter. I can absolutely imagine myself wearing this with a black leggings and long furry jacket on a nice winter day. You can layer this up with a colorful scarf and lip-color to brighten up the day. I got this skirt from Marshall’s and teamed it up with a off-white net crop top. The earthy white booties and black leather jacket completed this casual look. I totally love these front zip ankle booties, they are the best part of fall styling. I had almost no makeup and just a very basic lip shimmer on. Oh by the way, if you have not already read about lip-colors this fall, go ahead and check my post on “The Perfect Lip Color This Fall“. The post also covers lip-care regime and tips!
Sometimes you don’t want to add colors to an outfit. A simple combination of black & white can make wonders for an outfit that leaves a lasting impression. Just as my plaid black & white childhood creates a vivid memory now!
